We spent the day putting together Transformers, cooking and taking a few naps. We had a Merry Christmas. We are looking forward to exciting things in 2009! Wishing you all a Happy and Healthy New Year!!

Christmas Program - Christmas Around the world

Joel's first Christmas Program was last week. He held the stage down in his area...he didn't sing and barely moved. His class was from Hawaii and sang a Hawaiian Christmas song.

Who was the guy from Star Trek that also did Rainbow Reader on LPB...is Joel trying to be him??

For PawPaw.....you always ask for one of me...here is one that his half decent! Go Barry!

Christmas @ Biedenharn

Two of the cutest kids in the world. I swear this melts my heart every time I see it. Harley and Joel are the funniest pair of kids ever. If you only knew the mischief that was behind all this cuteness. About 20% of the time its like DeDe and I have twins lol.

WHERE DID MY BABY GO?!?!?!?!?!?

I can't even believe...this is my baby..... He is adorable though

Joel and Brooke. They have been pals since they were in the baby room at FUMC.

Pretty table

Here is the table setting for Christmas. My table is normally covered with crafts, mail and random stuff...so this is nice!

Amy

The plates are Radko from Target. Aunt Karen and Uncle Keith gave them to us for Christmas about 5 years ago.

These plates are Mom's (were in the Converse house). I didn't have enough of the Radko so I borrowed these, but I really like them with the red placemats.

Christmas Pictures @ Biedenharn museum

I took Joel's pictures at Biedenharn museum. Lillie and Cassandra came along too. I got some great shots of both of the kids (it doesn't hurt that they are both adorable)! The gardens are decorated for Christmas and are soooo beautiful!

Joel and the Christmas Tree

Here is a picture of Joel from this morning before school. After he had breakfast he stood with the Christmas tree. He was so excited. He asks to open presents every day. He loves the tree! The real tree is so wonderful. It smells good, its nice and beautiful. The top was sort of flattened by the ceiling being lower in the bay window, but otherwise everything is perfect!

Thankfulness...is that spelled correctly, is it a word??

This year we had a nice Thanksgiving. It was small, non traditional, but very nice.

Friday I was shopping by 4:30 am and ended up getting a few really nice things for Christmas at decent prices. Joel and I also put up the outside decorations. It looks pretty neat.

The three little lights on the left side are presents. The seven foot Elmo is from last year. And there is a toy solider near the doorstep that is from Barry's Marmette's house. She gave it to us when we lived in Lafayette. The ULL Sign is a year round staple in the yard...courtesy of Ms Fay who .....shall we call it...... procured it for me from a McDonald's in Broussard. Great stuff!

This morning I decorated McAlisters. My Mom's friend Aunt Liz was in from Dallas and we visited with her and her children this morning. It was really fun.

And - the title for the post is Thankfulness (I mean that is the season right)
So we are thankful for:
- Health
- Jobs
- Good friends/Family
- Hearing from our friends
- God's grace
- Joel said he is thankful for the TV...imagine that.
& many more things

We hope you had a great Thanksgiving. I am going to go put on the Christmas music, haul in the boxes and put up the tree.
